Jasminum grandiflorum, also known variously as the Spanish jasmine, Royal jasmine, Catalan jasmine, among others, is a species of jasmine. J.grandiflorum grow in shrubs that are semi-spreading. These plants have green, woody, pubescent stems that are either angular or grooved shape.Jasmines are widely cultivated for the characteristic fragrance of their flowers.The oil is also used in soap and cosmetic industry. It has opposite, pinnate leaves comprised of 5-11 leaflets and white fragrant flowers.
Salient Features:
* It is an Ayurvedic medicine plant, used for the treatment of wounds, skin diseases, ulcers of the oral cavity, gingivitis, headache, erectile dysfunction and eye disease.
* Jasmine is a plant. The flower is used to make medicine. Jasmine has been used for liver disease (hepatitis), liver pain due to cirrhosis, and abdominal pain due to severe diarrhea. It is also used to cause relaxation.
HOW TO GROW:
Once received keep the plant in natural indirect bright Light. Do not re-pot for minimum two weeks after receiving it.Water when top soil (1-2inches) feels dry to touch. The plant will grow just about anywhere and under a wide range of environmental conditions. Dig a hole somewhat shallower than the length of the root ball. Place the plant in the hole and replace soil, tamping firmly as you go. Water sufficiently. Water thoroughly after planting. Thereafter, water as needed to keep the soil evenly and consistently moist. In our experience, one to two weeks depending on the season is necessary to reestablish the plant happily.
