POINSETTIA/CHRISTMAS FLOWER (RED)-LIVE PLANT
Poinsettia plants (Euphorbia pulcherrima) remain one of the most popular holiday flowers. The familiar red blooms have been joined by even flashier colors. Actually, they are not flowers but modified leaves called bracts. The bright bracts are designed to attract insects to the tiny yellow flowers in their centers.Poinsettia is a flowering plant. The whole plant and its sap (latex) are used to make medicine.
HOW TO GROW:
Once received keep the plant in natural indirect bright Light. Do not re-pot for minimum two weeks after receiving it.Water when top soil (1-2inches) feels dry to touch. The plant will grow just about anywhere and under a wide range of environmental conditions. Dig a hole somewhat shallower than the length of the root ball. Place the plant in the hole and replace soil, tamping firmly as you go. Water sufficiently. Water thoroughly after planting. Thereafter, water as needed to keep the soil evenly and consistently moist. In our experience, one to two weeks depending on the season is necessary to reestablish the plant happily.
*Care instructions: Take care as your child. Protect from pest and insects. Grow in healthy organic mixed soil and give timely micronutrients and fertilisers.
